5 Ways to Train Like an Olympic Athlete! w/ Piper Gilles | FASHION


Hi, my name is Piper Gilles. I am an ice dancer for Team Canada. We are at the CSIO, which is the Canadian
Sports Institute of Ontario and I’m going to show you guys how to work out like an Olympian. So, follow me. So this first exercise is called “toes to
bar”. I’m going to bring my toes all the way up
there and my core gets super strong and it’s my favourite exercise. So this next exercise is called lateral rebounds
and I’m going to go back and forth from the bosu to the ground and make sure that this
standing leg is super stable because with skating we’re all about quick changing of
motion so I have to make sure I can do that as fast as possible. So this next exercise is actually on the med
ball with a sideplank with a twist and in skating I’m doing all these crazy lifts on
Paul so I have to make sure my core is firing when he’s moving at all times so this is what
I’m going to end up doing. So I don’t really have a name for this, my
trainer comes up with all the names, but I’m going to be standing on this box and jumping
down and having a quick rebound, in skating we have a lot of explosive power so this is
just going to help me fire as fast as I can and get my butt and my quads going. So we’re going to work on some explosive power,
so I’m going to stand here and sprint all the way down there as fast as I can. Let’s go.
