Advanced Gymnastics & Tumbling for Kids : How to Do a Back Hip Circle in Kids Gymnastics

Hi! I’m Matt, and on behalf of expertvillage.com,
we’ll be showing you a back hip circle. If you need some more information, go to lagymnastics.com.
Timothy is going to help us today. First, you give me your feet. Similar to the pullover,
which this starts with, you go chin to your stomach and you push up tall. Try to keep
you hands a little bit closer. A little closer, good. Now, push up tall. Now, this is cast.
Swing your legs 3 times. 1, 2, 3. He’s going the wrong way. This is called a back hip circle,
you backwards. Like a pullover, but it starts on top of the bar and then you push up tall.
One more time, so go 1, 2, 3, go backwards and push up tall. Okay, now to get down, you
can go the reverse. First you lay on your belly. Lay on your belly, then you take you
hands and you reach under the bar, and you flip over. Any day now, thank you.

  1. Well, first off I'm not trying to side with that evil coach, but sometimes tough love is needed? lol.
But the kids hip wern't…yno…comming off the bar the way they should, he's not being taught the propper way -.-'
Plus, I think the kid should have been told to try once on his own to build up strength, he's not gonna learn if your man keeps flinging him over the bar lol.

  2. Omg this video made me so mad because it reminds me of the kids i coach also! I would have said something worse than "any day now"! Maybe something like, "If you don't get off that bar right now just watch what I do, underneath my breath"! Works everytime for me lol That coach dealt with it better than me because kids act totally retarded sometimes as if they don't have ears or senses to hear geeze learn some directions

  3. hahah honestly i dont really think the coach was mean as far as gymnastic coaches are involved… but he should have picked a kid that could actually do a back hip circle!
