Basketball Dribbling Drills : The Around the Back Drill in Basketball

O’kay this particular drill here is called
around the back. Once again you want to be a complete ball handler and everything you
do to one side you want to do to the other side. What this particularly does is you know
sometimes for a very crafty player, you are dribbling down the middle of the floor and
you might want to go one way, pass, and get the other way and pass and then you might
want to get a little tricky and throw it up. Nonetheless it is coordination. These particular
warm up drills are coordination drills and it kind of gives you a great feel for the
ball so a lot of times you just do it and go around the back. I like to just play with
it because sometimes in the act of the game the ball gets out in different ways and you
just pull it in, just bring it in. You go to one side, the other side, right, and just
get a feel for it. Get it long and bring it in. Sometimes I like to get it up and I’ll
flip it right, then back around, flip it up, back around again and flip it up, right? This
here is coordination and then I will bring it down around my knees, my ankles, my knees
and back up again.
