Dance, Cheer & Tumbling Spotlight

Dance, Cheer & Tumbling Spotlight

[MUSIC PLAYING] – I’ve been teaching
for 20 years here for the Parks
and Rec Department. And I just keep coming back time
after time, because it’s just a joy to see kids
and adults coming in, learning something new, and
just enjoying themselves. And, hopefully, encouraging
them to continue dancing. [MUSIC PLAYING] Currently, I have an
adult class going, and that consists of ballroom,
swing, and country dance. You sign up with a
partner, and you’re going to stay with that
partner the entire time, so that it’s just nice and
comfortable and relaxed. We only work on
beginning skills, so we’ll do some different
steps, some turns, and everything is
just very basic. I always work with
beginners, so just show up and have a good time. [MUSIC PLAYING] And then I also have
toddler classes coming up, and those are for our
two to three-year-olds, for boys and girls. And we have ballet,
jazz, cheerleading, and then we have a separate
class that’s a tumbling class. And we do one dance each night. So, the first night we’ll do
ballet, the next, second week, we’ll do our jazz, and then the
last week we do cheerleading. And then we have our
Toddler Tumble Tots, which is also for the same age
group, two and three-year-olds, boys and girls. And we just do three weeks
of tumbling, basic tumbling skills, and we do a lot
of other fun things. We have instruments, we
have a parachute, batons. Fun stuff like that, just
to make the class exciting. And then, also, we offer
those same classes for four to eight-year-olds. And they just go on three-week
sessions throughout the year. And, so what’s
nice about that is, you don’t have to make
a big time commitment. And you also don’t have to
make a big financial commitment with any of these classes. And, if you enjoy the class,
you can come back and take it again and again. And, every time, you can
take something new away from the class. [MUSIC PLAYING]
