today there are new accusations against the Houston Texans another former cheerleader is speaking out about what she says happened while she was on the squad that former cheerleader Angelina Rosa is the sixth woman to join a lawsuit against the team channel twos Brittney Jeffers is following the latest developments for us right now Brittney as Sara in this most recent allegations that woman says she was told by a coach that she was too fat and as a result of that she says before a performance her coach duct-taped her so that she would appear smaller and now she is one of six who’s asking for sweeping changes to that program I feel humiliated and ashamed of my own body bullied belittled and body shamed Angelina Rosa was on the Texas cheerleading squad for two years she says the experience caused both emotional and physical pain grossest as a cheerleading coach told her that she was quote skinny fat Rosa says the verbal abuse forced her into an eating disorder but she says things escalated last season right before a game before I knew it Texans logo duct tape was found and I heard this will hurt a bit as I watched my skin being pulled stretched and tape tightly I myself Rossa is one of several former Texans cheerleaders who claimed that they were overworked and underpaid in May other former cheerleaders told channel 2 that staff referred to the young woman’s quote jelly belly and chunky cheeks there also was a culture of fear attorney Gloria Allred represents Rosa and five other former cheerleaders she says she sent a letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell addressing the issues and has also filed a lawsuit alleging sex discrimination and unfair working conditions Rosa says that she was scared to come forward but says silence won’t create change I think and it’s higher reform on how professional cheerleaders are treated is long overdue now in May the Texas did release a statement saying in part we’re constantly evaluating our procedures and will continue to make adjustment adjustments to make the program more enjoyable for everyone now following these most recent allegations I did reach out to the Texans and was told by email today that they had no further comment reporting live here in Brittney Jeffers KPRC Channel 2 News
