How to Do a Double-Based Thigh Stand | Cheerleading


How to do a double base sky stand. The double base sky stand is a stunt that
requires two bases, a top person, and an optional back spot. This stunt can be performed on the sidelines
or during a cheerleading routine. Cheerleading skills including stunts, pyramids,
and basket tosses should only be performed under the supervision of a qualified adult,
and after following the proper skill progression. This will help keep you safe and improve technique. Here are a few key points that you should
know about the double base sky stand. You can load into this stunt in two ways,
by stepping up, or jumping in. Once you’re in the stunt the top person can
hit a motion. The bases need to make sure that they’re in
a good solid lunge during the entire stunt, and as the top person jumps in, that they’re
grabbing high above the knee. As the top person is jumping in they need
to make sure that they are putting their feet high on the thigh of the bases. For the back spot, they just need to stay
at the waist for the entire stunt. And that’s how you do a double base sky stand.
