HOW TO: Ushiro Mawashi Geri | The Chuck Norris Roundhouse Kick | Shotokan Karate Kick

Hi good afternoon! The topic of today is Ushiro mawashi geri. Ushiro mawashi geri hits after a 360° spin. And that’s where the movement begins. The weight is immediately shifted to the foothold, the cover goes towards the opponent and the upper body is upright at this point. Then the hip tilts and the leg goes along. This attitude is the same as in the Ura mawashi geri but here the turn comes before. Weight shift, keep the leg on the ground for as long as possible, to ensure balance and now tilt your hip and lift the leg. The next move is the snapping of the leg. So, from this movement snap the leg towards the enemy – towards the target – and come back to the same place to put down (your leg) afterwards. That was Ushiro mawashi geri. Like the Ura mawashi geri, this kick also hits either with the sole of the foot or with the heel. To look at the Ura mawashi geri check out the previous video otherwise – for today we are done. Thank you for your attention see you next time.
