THE CHARACTERS ARE SO RICH AND IT ALSO PERTAINS TO A LOT OF YOUNG PEOPLE WHO DIDN’T SEE IT ON THE BIG SCREEN IN 1984. THERE ARE SO MANY GOOD CHARACTERS THAT ARE FULL ARCS. I BINGE WATCH IT MYSELF ON A BIG SCREEN AND IT’S ALL ABOUT THE YOUNG GENERATION AS WELL. ROBERT KAMAN WHO I BELIEVE IS THE STAR WHO WROTE KARATE KID ONE, HE HAD A MARINE SERGEANT WHO WAS JOHN KREIS AND WORSE. I COULDN’T IMAGINE WORSE, BUT HE WAS TERRIFIC AND TO ME HE IS THE STAR THIS PIECE BECAUSE HE PUT WAX ON, WAX OFF, SWEEP THE LEG, WE WOULD BE SAYING AT 34 YEARS LATER UNLESS WE HAD A WRITER. WHO CAN FORGET THE CRANE SHOT, THE CRANE KICK. TOTALLY ILLEGAL. JOHNNY LAWRENCE IS THE REAL KARATE KID BECAUSE HE LOST THAT BATTLE BECAUSE OF AN ILLEGAL KICK. THERE’S NO SUCH THING. JOHN HURWITZ AND JOSH HEALED AND HAYDEN, THEY CREATED BRILLIANCE. THEN THEY TALKED ME INTO DOING THIS BECAUSE I DIDN’T KNOW IS GOING TO EVOLVE AND STRUCTURE AND THEIR BELIEF AND LOVE FOR THE SERIES MADE IT ALL WORTHWHILE. NOW WE KNOW STREET SEASON TWO IS COMING. 1. This fucking video showed up on my feed and completely spoiled the ending of Cobra Kai before I finished it. I was and still am pissed off. Get this shit off YouTube or put a spoiler warning. As soon as you see that actor’s face, you know what’s coming at the end of the season. It ruined an otherwise mind blowing ending to a terrific show.

  2. The crane was an illegal kick but the move is real. By putting yourself in the Crane, you draw an enemies attention to your hands, the one leg that's up, and the leg holding you're standing on. Numerous attacks are possible from one move. Does it work in a fight? Probably not. Was it an ILLEGAL kick to the face…YES.

  3. Damn I can't wait, I grew up in the 80's and have seen all three of the movies on the big screen. I'm ready for season 2 !!!

  4. Hey CBS Los Angeles! Couldn't get anyone from the movie or the new show? Oh wait yeah he played in like 10 minutes of the movie and 15 seconds of the first season. I'm sure your ratings were crazy.  Dumb

  5. I can't believe Martin Kove is so sympathetic! It proves he's an amazing actor!
John Kreese was indeed in the military. He even meets John Rambo at the end of Rambo 2 – First Blood.

  6. I subscribed to YouTube Red solely because of this original series and I am so happy I did, it was so worth it!! Kobra Kai is enthralling and offers a rich storyline that satisfies nostalgia and the desire to know what happens next!! It would be nice if season two and three offered longer running times for episodes and maybe more episodes than season 1. If you loved the 80s and the Karate Kid movie is one of your favorites then definitely don’t miss this series it is as captivating as the original movie, I love it!!!

  7. I Love This ❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

  8. All I can think of is "Finish him!" and then smiling at Sly Stallone as he abandons him on a Viet Cong hilltop ….. geez thirty years later I'm still scared of Martin Kove just looking at him ….. LOL.

  9. He was allowed to win in high school and college but wasn't allowed to win in Vietnam and wanted to make sure his students didn't lose. Wtf is he talking about? I love how he built this whole background to his character.

  10. This man is 72 years old… unbelievable! I know men in their 50's that look older than him. He actually looks almost the same as he did 35 years ago!

  11. Johnny was a jerk but at the end of the movie he was cool. He showed good sportsmanship. Kreese on the other hand was a complete ass. Cobra Kai would be better with out him.

  12. Cobra Kai is phenomenal! Better than the movies! Great story, acting and amazing new young actors. Pat Morita would have been proud of this. I hope they make 10 seasons!

  13. Kove has a great attitude about the project. I saw him in another interview where he was dismissive of his original role.

  14. Martin Kove is so damn cool. And what 72? I only could hope to look this great when I am this age. I would love to see him kick some ass in Cobra Kai Season 2!

  15. I think Terry Silver will be back but his kid will be one of Johnny’s students? 🤔🤔🤔 Love the show! Love everything about this reboot!!! Love the fact that my kids (Martial Arts) students love it as well!

  16. They really picked up on the internet fan theories that Johnny was the hero. That's great that they're so in tune with the audience.

  17. I think Martin said he is character will be good and bad in another interview for the second season. I wrote on another video clip that to me seeing this series now is weird. It was so well done….I felt when they flashed back to original movie, I flash backed to my own HS years ( I was Sophomore when it was released) The music and tone were all there. Even when I was that age I thought the Martial Arts weren’t accurate and still don’t but then we don’t watch this for the Martial Art sequences really. It made me feel too young to be old, two old to be young. You get the awkwardness of high school, the rich kids, the poor kids and everyone in-between plus Daniel and Johnny coming to term with their pasts. This series has shown the flaws in both characters…nothings black or white. There are grey areas all over the place and Johnny, although winning doesn’t feel satisfied and realizing he isn’t 17 years old anymore. Then there is Daniel losing his way and not having a Sensei anymore to guide him also. And for us Generation X’rs it could be a metaphor for our own lives in a strange way. With Martin Kove coming in gives it even more authenticity now.

  18. Great show.

I had to watch it to the point that I marathon watched it from start to finish. Never thought I would ever do that. But this took me back to the 80's in a very special way..

Every guy from 45-55 will lover this show. Unless you are a total twat that is.

  19. Terry Silver must return as well… also the Antagonist from Okinawa… and the guy who played Miyagi's Rival… Sato… if the old dude is still alive today 🙂

  20. I squealed like a piggy in a mud patch at the end of episode 10 when the mighty John Kreese made his entrance.
Mike Barnes is confirmed, now Terry Silver needs to comeback with that sneering contempt face and Snake the henchman with his cheesy one liners, then my life would be complete.

If only Danny Larusso "could" say "They can't do this man, this is the eighties!"

  21. Who also is kinda Like "whaaaatt" because Miguel & Sam didnt make up.. i really wished they did I felt sad they didnt Like if you agree!

  22. Mike Barnes won’t be back, Sean Kanan keeps talking about it public. If was actually in season 2, he would have a non disclosure agreement. Mike Barnes isn’t Cobra Kai trained, we don’t need him. I bet Terry Silver shows up at the end of season 2 though. I want cameos from Ali and the original Cobra Kais.

  23. Cobra kai is so great. I didn’t really like his appearance at the end of season 1. Seemed kinda outta place to me for some reason. but I now trust the writers to ground his “evil” character so can’t wait

  25. Kove is right, incredible writing hands down! Kove and the other actors are also amazing because they bring that writing talent to the talent!

  26. One of my favorite film villains of the 80's! But, it just occurred to me how much he looks like a blend of Billy Idol and Gordon Ramsay….

  27. SHIT Martin Kove looks amazing. Someone commented he's 72????? holy shit balls. when he was younger he had such strong facial features……… those deep set eyes and dimple chin. I'm really happy actually to see some faces from a great time in life…1984. Just wished there wasn't so many dick and oral sex references in Cobra Kai. That's the only thing that's pissing me off, which has spoiled the 80's magic.

  28. He's not really aged only a bit. The cast of Karate Kid in the 80s (the 3 of them) were not victims of Hollywood that destroyed lives.

  29. It's great writing that respects the canon. And no fake sub actors, only the actual originals or nothing. That really hooks you like nothing else. It's so realistic, gritty, yet entertaining.
