Good Day Shorthorns! I’m Elijah Alardin
and I’m Micaela Gonzales and this is Shorthorn News This story goes out to anyone that is
interested in joining UIL. There will be a Meet and Greet with all UIL coaches
on Tuesday, September 17th after school in the library. If you’re interested in joining UIL or even if you don’t know what UIL is about, then please make sure
to stop by on Tuesday after school in the library. All events will be explained
by the coaches and sign ups will begin as well. We hope to see you there All Student Council members. There’s a mandatory meeting after school on Thursday
September 19th Fundraising information will be distributed so you must make sure to attend if you want to take part in the Student Council Attention Trautmann (and Trautwomen) in Tomorrow’s Teachers club. T-shirts will be sold online for $10 each if you’re unsure of your size then please stop by room 306 first to check with Mrs. Cruz attention Attention Lassos. Practices are every Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:45 to 6:00PM at our TMS 6th grade campus. Please
make sure to be on time and in proper attire Also shout-out to our Lasso of the Week This week is Libby Villarreal.
Way to go Libby! Congratulations go out to our very own TMS cheerleaders of the week For 6th grade we have Amberly Gonzalez For 7th Grade, it’s Miranda Garza, and our 8th grade cheerleader of the week is, Ileana Martinez. Way to go, girls! Keep up the great work! And now, we go to sports. In
volleyball news, all of our teams emerged victorious from their battles
last week. Our 7th grade blue team defeated the United South Leopards with
the top players of the game being Regina Rodriguez and Naomi Chavera. Our 7th orange team defeated the Washington Bobcats with scores of 25 to 8 and 25 to 15 Our top scorer of the team was Vivian
Trevino with 17 points. Great teamwork seventh grade. Our 8th grade orange team also defeated the Washington Bobcats with scores of 25 to 6 and 25 to 14 The top player of the game was Kaylee Cox with nine consecutive serves and Kaitlin Reese with 8 consecutive serves and our
eighth grade blue team defeated the United South’s leopards with the score
being 25 to 16 in both sets the top scorers were Karla Mendiola and
Chrisette Martinez both with nine points each Great job eighth grade teams. Keep
up the great teamwork. This month is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month To show your support you may wear yellow shirts on every Friday of this month TMS spirit socks are available for sale online for only $18 a pair Pop sockets are also available for sale for only $8 show off your school spirit and order online today. Reminder to all students attendance is very important. You must be here every day because every minute counts If you are absent, you must turn in all excuses to the attendance office Remember, students with perfect attendance will be entered into a raffle for a prize. Reminder to everyone do not be tardy to class. Four tardies is all it takes to earn detention on Friday after school. Dress code violations will also result in
