I grew up racing with my dad. I just fell in love with it as a kid. I got hooked on racing at about age six. Being able to get on the world stage and put it all on the line for ten seconds, there’s nothing better. When I’m on the starting line, that’s my happy place. That’s the calm before the storm. You’ve already put all the training in, you’ve already put all the practice in, so it’s just executing at that point. No matter what you did last year, it doesn’t really matter. It’s a whole new season. You’re not always going to have a perfect start, you’re not always going to have a perfect transition, but being able to adjust in the middle of those, that’s what makes a great athlete. That moment when you cross the finish line and all of the pieces in the puzzle just click together, That feeling is a really really special moment. I can’t even explain the feeling, it’s overwhelming. Winning anything is the best thing and the worst thing because after you do it, you won’t settle for anything less. No matter what, chasing greatness is contagious.
