The Biggest Loser || At Home With Lindsay

Guess who’s here? Who? Dolvett. Hello! Oh my gosh, hi how are you? How you guys doin? Ashley, nice to meet you! Good to see you. Lindsay and I have already
gotten acquainted but I know I can’t do this without the help of her family. So I
wanted to take a little time, sit down talk, to her mom, talk to her sister.
Thanks for having me. Yeah of course. You’ve been active? Yes,
early in the morning like around 5:00, we go for a two mile run. Who’s we,
the whole family? No just me and mom. Oh okay. And then I go in the afternoon with Lindsay–on a bike ride, cause I love biking it’s so much fun. There’s a tremendous amount of progress in this
home now. Not only is Lindsay working out, the mom and sister are working out as
well. Where do we go from here? We keep progressing, we make it part of
our lives. The whole school found out that you came and everything. And they were like how could I help them? That’s cool. She’s a role model now. She is. You know I kind of
wanted to talk to you a little bit about kids bothering in school. Do you guys mind if Lindsay and I just spend a little time together? Yeah that’s fine. Let’s chat a little bit,
okay? Thank you. I finally get a chance to talk to Lindsay in her environment so I
wanted to take a little time and kind of understand some of the things Lindsay
hasn’t told me about herself. Tell me about when you tried out for the
cheerleading squad and when you used to be bullied. There was just a really
hurtful names just like mostly fat names. They would just like laugh and stuff.
You know would really hurt and you’re like can’t even focus because you feel
uncomfortable in class and you feel like everyone’s just laughing at you. I would
get really sad in class and like I would just hold back the tears sometimes, and
just wait til I get home and just watch cartoons. I think all of us have been
bullied in some way. You know kids can be cruel. But that impression in a small
child’s mind on how they view themselves… I’m held responsible to help this young
lady see herself in a different light. Period. You have to know this. There’s no
room in my book for bullying. There’s no excuse for it or teasing or taunting
anybody. There is nothing you cannot do. Thank you. Don’t
stop believing in yourself. You just keep smiling. You kill them with kindness,
Okay. There’s so many amazing things in front of you. I’m excited to know you.
Thank you. I found out that Lindsey quit her
cheerleading team in middle school because kids were making fun of her
weight. This is pretty common for kids that are overweight. I feel the best way
to restore her confidence is for her to face these problems head-on. I have a surprise for you. You ready? Yeah. You sure? No. Get ready. Okay. Come on out girls! I just heard like this big roar of girls just saying “woohoo, let’s go let’s go!” Don’t give up, never give in. Fight! This is the high school team that Lindsay desperately wants to be a part of in this moment Lindsey saw herself out there. Don’t give up, never give up, fight to win! I realized that they’re just
telling me never give up always fight for your dreams and just go for it. And I
just love that these girls were cheering for me, and I was like tearing up. I’m like, I’m not gonna cry, I’m not gonna cry. So you know, we here, and I’ve never been one to back down on a good workout. And cheerleading is working out, isn’t it? Yes. It’s tough right? So what do you
girls got for me? Let’s go, let’s do a workout real quick. Don’t give up, never give in. Fight to win! Don’t give up, never give in. Fight to win! No this time say it for Lindsay! Don’t give up, never give in. Fight to win! You are a cheerleader. Everyone was just so
welcoming. They were so nice to me and I just loved it. You’re gonna say Flashes
on three one two three Flashes. One two three Flashes! It’s a beautiful moment
because I know what it was like being vulnerable at age 13. My goal is to open
up Lindsay’s mind to what’s possible. Anything’s possible if you
put your mind to it. Are you excited for this really exciting journey you’re gonna go on? Yes. We’re excited for you.
I know I’ll be watching you through the whole way. Thank you so much guys.
We’ll be cheering you on at home. Well my dream is also to be a cheerleader here. Just know like “can’t” isn’t a word in a cheerleader’s vocabulary. Like don’t say you can’t because you can, like anything is possible. If you believe it you can do it.
We’re excited for you. Thank you so much! Just push through the pain and you’ll
know like once it’s all done it’ll be so worth it. I really look up to you guys right now. Aww thank you. You guys are welcome. Hug? You know facing your fears is definitely a long process. Today Lindsay took the first step. It was great for Lindsay to be inspired by these
girls. It’s a good day for Lindsay.
